Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Vacaytrip LLC, doing business as Desi ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Desi app or website (the "Service"), you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. You must not be a registered sex offender or have been convicted of a violent felony. One person may have one account. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
Community rules and safety
We have zero tolerance for abuse. You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, bully, stalk or discriminate against anyone, including because of caste, religion, community, race, nationality, gender or sexual orientation, and you will not ask others about caste or use Desi to screen people by caste;
- post or send sexually explicit, violent, hateful or illegal content;
- impersonate anyone, use fake photos or information, or run more than one account;
- ask for or send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or financial details, or promote any scheme, sale, or investment, including payments for visas, immigration, travel, wedding costs, dowry or gifts;
- use Desi to arrange a marriage or relationship for the purpose of immigration fraud, or to pressure, coerce or force anyone into marriage;
- share another person's private details, photos, ID documents or biodata without their permission;
- solicit users to leave Desi to chat elsewhere in order to defraud them;
- use the Service for commercial purposes, spam, or to collect other members' information;
- break the law or interfere with how the Service works.
You can report or block any member in two taps from an introduction or a chat. We review every report, and we aim to act on reports within 24 hours. We may remove content, suspend or delete accounts, and share information with authorities, at our discretion and without notice for serious violations. See our safety guidelines.
Sensitive information you choose to share
Optional fields such as religion and community are shown on your profile only if you fill them in. You decide whether to share them, you can remove them at any time, and we never use them to rank or filter people. Please respect other members' choices: do not pressure anyone to share or change them. See our Privacy Policy.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a limited license to host, display and deliver it to other members as part of the Service. You are responsible for your content and for what you share with other members.
Verification and the ID verified badge
Phone and local-area checks are required to message other members. The ID verified badge is optional and costs a one-time fee shown before you buy. A badge means a government ID and selfie check passed. It is not a background check, and it does not guarantee anyone's identity, character or intentions. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play follow their refund rules. Other purchases are non-refundable except where the law requires, or where a check could not be completed because of a problem on our side, in which case contact us.
Meeting people: use caution
We do not screen members beyond the verification steps and we are not responsible for the conduct of members, online or offline. Be careful: meet in public places, tell someone where you are going, and never send money to anyone you have not met in person.
Free and paid features
Core features are free, and safety features are never behind a paywall. We offer optional paid features, such as Desi Plus and the ID verified badge. Prices are shown in your local currency where we support it, and we tell you the price before you buy. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are managed, and can be cancelled, in your store account.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Me, then Delete my account). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or put others at risk.
Disclaimers and limits
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Apple and Google
If you use the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google is not a party to this agreement and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. You may use the app on devices you own or control, subject to the store's usage rules. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms as they apply to the iOS app and may enforce them against you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Desi is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we make material changes we will tell you in the app or by email. Using the Service after the change means you accept it.
